Tbilisi. May 4. INTERFAX-The US Coast Guard boat "USCGC HAMILTON" (WMSL 753) entered the Georgian port of Batumi on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, " the visit of the American boat is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the United States and Georgia in the field of security, contributes to peace and stability in the region, and also emphasizes the importance of the Black Sea for Euro-Atlantic security."
According to the ministry, joint exercises with the Georgian Coast Guard boats were held during the visit.
It is reported that during the exercises, naval tactical maneuvers and actions during search and rescue procedures were practiced.
"The joint exercises contribute to increasing the level of interoperability between the coast guard units of the two countries," the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes.
