Washington. May 1. INTERFAX-The White House has completed a review of North Korea's policy and determined the direction of the new administration's policy towards North Korea, US presidential spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters.
"I can confirm that we have completed a review of the DPRK's policy, which was thorough, rigorous and comprehensive. Our goal remains the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," she told reporters aboard the presidential plane en route to Philadelphia for Joe Biden.
Psaki noted that Biden and his team in relation to Pyongyang will not follow in line with the policies of previous US administrations, which did not bring real results in the field of denuclearization.
"With the clear understanding that the efforts of the last four administrations have failed to achieve this goal, our policy will not focus on achieving big deals and will not rely on strategic patience," the White House spokeswoman said.
According to her, the new US policy "requires a balanced, practical approach that is open to diplomacy with the DPRK and will study it."
Earlier, Biden said that the summits of former President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un only gave the" North Korean dictator " the global recognition that he had long sought.
