MOSCOW, April 28. /TASS/. The Russian military demonstrated to military attaches from 52 countries live firing from the S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems and the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun systems at the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region. This was reported to journalists in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

About 80 representatives of the military and diplomatic corps from 52 countries of the CIS, Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America, accredited in Russia, visited the Ashuluk training ground of the Center for Combat Training and Combat Use of the Aerospace Forces in the Astrakhan region.

"The officers of foreign states were shown the combat capabilities of the S-400 Triumph long-range anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as the Pantsir-S short-range anti - aircraft missile and gun systems for detecting and destroying training air targets, "the ministry said.

The Defense Ministry stressed that during the draw of the tactical episode, which consists of three stages, foreign military attaches were shown the features of the organization of air defense to repel a missile and air strike of a simulated enemy. "The combat crews of the S-400 and the Pantsir-S missile defense systems detected and destroyed all target missiles simulating aerodynamic, operational-tactical, tactical ballistic targets, cruise missiles, as well as ground targets," the Defense Ministry stressed.

According to the military department, on the eve of the foreign officers were told about the features of the center's activities and acquainted the military attaches of foreign countries with the specifics and possibilities of training foreign military personnel in the specialties of air defense in the Yaroslavl Higher Military School of Air Defense.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation regularly invites representatives of the military and diplomatic corps of foreign countries to various events. In 2020, foreign military diplomats attended more than 20 events. As stressed in the military department, this event is planned and is carried out in order to increase the transparency of the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
