Near the borders of the Crimea in the north of the peninsula, the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle was spotted. This is reported by Defense Express with reference to the data of the Flightradar portal.
The fact that the aircraft is a Bayraktar TB2 is indicated by its call sign "12345678", which was already identified during the exercise "United Efforts — 2020", as well as the fact that the UAV took off from the military airfield in Starokonstantinov — here is based the 383rd regiment of remotely controlled aircraft, which is armed with these UAVs. In addition, the speed of the device was 230 kilometers per hour, which is not typical for other aircraft.
The actions of the Bayraktar TB2 could not be traced, as it turned off the transponder shortly after takeoff. At the same time, two American strategic UAVs were operating near the peninsula: the Global Hawk and the British RC-135W Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft.
Earlier it was reported that two RQ-4 Global Hawk reconnaissance drones of the US Air Force, as well as the RC-135W strategic reconnaissance aircraft of the British Air Force, approached the borders of the Crimea and Kuban. "Three guests at once at the border along the Crimea and Kuban," the message said. It was clarified that the drones took off from the NATO air base in Sigonella.
In early April, Ukraine agreed with the manufacturer Bayraktar TB2 to buy a batch of drones from Turkey. On the same day, one of these vehicles, probably delivered earlier, was seen in the sky over the Donbass.
