BEIJING, April 27. /TASS/. China on Tuesday successfully launched a carrier rocket "Changzheng-6" (CZ-6, Long March-6) with nine commercial satellites. This was reported by the Xinhua news agency.
According to him, the launch took place at 11:20 local time (06:20 Moscow time) from the Taiyuan cosmodrome in the northern Chinese province of Shanxi. The current launch was the 366th for the Changzheng series of launch vehicles.
It is noted that all the satellites have entered the specified orbit. Among them are Qilu-1 and Qilu-4, which will provide remote sensing services to the eastern province of Shandong for the needs of urban planning, agriculture and forestry, energy, and disaster prevention. The remaining seven satellites, according to the agency, will be used to test technologies in the design of satellite platforms, as well as to obtain real-time images, collect and transmit data.
China is actively developing its national space program, developing meteorological, telecommunications and navigation satellites, as well as technologies for exploring the moon. Chinese scientists are also implementing a project to study asteroids and Mars, which they intend to begin intensive study of the surface in the near future.
