The number of people vaccinated against coronavirus by the first component of the Sputnik V vaccine exceeded 667.3 thousand people in the army and navy. Many of them were also vaccinated with the second component of the drug. In total, the Armed Forces delivered almost 706 thousand doses of the vaccine against a life-threatening infection.
This was announced on Monday evening by the Russian Defense Ministry in a special bulletin on the department's website. It also provides the latest information on the epidemiological situation in the Armed Forces. According to the data given in the bulletin, 9 military personnel were cured of COVID-19 only in the past day. And the total number of soldiers and officers who since March last year got rid of the new coronavirus infection reached 32,878 people in the army and navy.
In addition, after the mandatory two-week monitoring and the second negative test for coronavirus, more than 114 thousand military personnel were removed from medical control.
Currently, 345 military personnel are under medical supervision. They were diagnosed with a dangerous infection. 199 such patients are treated in military hospitals. Three are in civilian hospitals and clinics. Another 143 people are isolated at home. There are no patients in serious condition. The average severity of the disease was diagnosed in three military personnel. The rest - without symptoms of the disease, according to the bulletin.
Among the employees, cadets and students of universities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, 21 people with coronavirus have been identified to date. In the civilian personnel of the Armed Forces, a dangerous infection was detected in 84 people.
The ministry noted that 790 people are currently being treated in 18 multidisciplinary medical centers of the Russian Defense Ministry, 184 of which are civilians. "Patients receive all types of specialized care, from diagnostics to surgical treatment for a wide range of pathologies, including those affected by coronavirus infection," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
