Combat crews of the air and missile defense forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces have successfully launched a new missile of the Russian missile defense system (ABM). This happened at the Sary-Shagan test site in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The process itself was shown on video. The Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation quotes the commander of the VKS missile defense unit, Major General Sergei Grabchuk, who noted that the new missile defense system after a series of tests confirmed the technical characteristics laid down in it. The combat crews coped with the task and accurately hit the conditional target.
The missile defense system is designed to protect the territories of Russia from air and space attack.
