Moscow. April 21. INTERFAX-Russia has no plans to purchase Bayraktar attack drones from Turkey, the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) told Interfax on Wednesday.
"Russia is not currently considering the purchase of Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles from Turkey, as it has its own Orion-class UAVs, which are supplied both to the Russian Armed Forces and for export," Valeria Reshetnikova, a spokeswoman for the FSMTC, told the agency.
On April 20, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the deal on the sale of combat drones to Ukraine is not directed against Russia. At the same time, he said that Ankara is ready to discuss the supply of Turkish defense products to Moscow.
"Yes, we sell when there is demand. This deal is not directed against Russia. If Russia needs the products of our defense industry, we are ready to discuss it, " Cavusoglu said on Haberturk.
Cavusoglu said that Turkey continues negotiations with Russia on the purchase of a new batch of Russian S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile systems.
As reported by Interfax, according to official data, the Russian army is armed with reconnaissance drones, for example, "Aileron-3", "Leer", "Orlan-10", " Outpost "(a licensed copy of the Israeli "Searcher 2"), etc.
