INTERFAX-The results of scientific research and samples of devices were demonstrated to the experts of the optoelectronic industry and representatives of the leading technical universities of the Russian Federation by the participants of the final round of the corporate project of the Shvabe holding "The Power of Light-2021".
"The finalists present research results, technical solutions and show real samples of devices. These include a model for transmitting information to outer space, an automated metal detector based on a drone, and a proposal to equip unmanned aerial vehicles with long-wave and short-wave IR cameras to search for people, "the press service of Shvabe said in a statement on Wednesday.
Also presented is a "designed robot for collecting soil samples on other planets and a wake-up monitoring device, which in the future can become an element of a "Smart Home". "The author of the latest project suggests using light waves of the blue-green spectrum, which reduce the production of melatonin, which contributes to easier awakening," the press release notes.
In total, 25 works were selected for the final stage of the corporate competition in three categories: "Optical devices in the service of man", "Space technology and ground-based complexes for the study of the Earth and the Universe", "Optics-science of the XXI century". 29 students and schoolchildren are fighting for the victory.
According to Olga Malashkina, Deputy General Director of Shvabe, "The Power of Light "" gives students a chance to realize their ideas, get expert assessment and advice from specialists in the optical industry, as well as enroll in targeted training at specialized universities in the country or take an internship in production."
"We see a lot of interest from the guys. Due to the high competition of projects, the final of this year is particularly intense, " Malashkina said, as quoted by the press service.
