Residents of the city photographed the explosion, the company Tomer added that the explosion only in the photos seems intimidating, but it was "controlled", reports Haaretz.
The publication clarified that, perhaps, the plant planned to conduct a normal experiment, but there was some mistake. According to the newspaper, security officers and representatives of the company will conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
The state-owned Tomer company specializes in missile technology, including the production of rocket engines and Arrow 4 ballistic missile systems. The plant also produces the Ofek-16 reconnaissance satellite.
Earlier, on April 11, there was an accident in the power distribution network at the nuclear facility in the Iranian city of Natanz. There was a small explosion, as a result of which no one was injured.
Iranian Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi called the accident a terrorist act.
The next day, a source of the American edition of The New York Times said that Israel was involved in the accident in Natanz. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in turn, also announced the country's involvement in the incident.
The official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said that Tehran will respond to Israel in a timely manner because of the accident at the nuclear facility in Natanz.
As it turned out later, the sabotage at the nuclear facility was organized by the Iranian Reza Karimi. It was reported that the man worked at the facility, and before the sabotage fled the country. It was not specified which country the attacker fled to.
