In China, for the first time, an image of the new Feilong-2 heavy-duty strike drone was publicly shown. The machine is made according to the "flying wing" scheme, equipped with jet engines and has low radar visibility, writes dambiev.
Photos of the prototype were published on the Chinese social network Weibo. A significant portion of the images are retouched to hide the drone's equipment. The visible fragments allow us to talk about the similarity of the drone with the model shown at the exhibition of achievements of civil and military equipment in Beijing in 2019.
According to open sources, the FL-2 will receive two turbofan engines, a take-off weight of about 22 tons and the ability to carry almost 6 tons of combat load. Traveling at a cruising speed of 750 km / h, the Feilong-2 will be able to stay in the air for up to 10 hours, and the flight range will be 7,000 kilometers.
The aerodynamic scheme and other parameters are similar to the FL-2 with the Russian heavy drone S-70 "Hunter", while the maximum speed and the practical ceiling of the latter is higher: 1000 km / h and 18 km, respectively.
