Krasnoyarsk. April 14. INTERFAX-The launch of the MS-21 aircraft on the market is "slowing down" due to sanctions, the work on import substitution has not yet been completed, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said.
"We cannot hide the fact that one of the reasons for the slowdown in the launch of the MS-21 is the sanctions. We have already overcome them in a number of positions, in particular, on composites, " Borisov said, speaking at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum on Wednesday.
"We still have hard, hard work to replace up to 40 percent of the presence of foreign avionics in this flagship project. I think that we will cope with this task, the proof of this is the test of the Russian PD-14 engine in December last year, " the deputy prime minister said.
The MC-21 is to be the first medium-haul aircraft built in post-Soviet Russia, and the extended composite wing is one of its competitive advantages over its counterparts from Boeing and Airbus. It increases the efficiency of the car and increases the width of the interior.
The main contractor of the program is PJSC "Irkut Corporation" (part of PJSC " UAC "of the state corporation "Rostec").
PD-14 is a basic turbofan engine, which was created in a wide cooperation of UEC enterprises for the MS-21-300 airliner using the latest technologies and materials, including composite ones.
The first MS-21s were equipped with engines of the American company Pratt&Whitney.
Earlier it was reported that the US sanctions against the Russian company Aerocomposite led to the termination of the import of composite materials for the creation of this aircraft. The new supplier of components was later selected by the Rosatom plant in the SEZ "Alabuga". Nevertheless, the start of mass production of the MS-21 was once again postponed, according to the latest official data, it is expected at the end of 2021.
