In honor of the 60th anniversary of the first human flight into space, the Russian Defense Ministry published a short video from the Academy of the Strategic Missile Forces, where more than 30 samples of space technology are collected in a special audience.
The frame includes communication systems and other satellites for various purposes. They are being shown to the general public for the first time, the Defense Ministry stressed.
The auditorium where the spacecraft are assembled is named after Konstantin Tsiolkovsky. This is a research laboratory where future rocket scientists get acquainted with rocket and space technology, the press service of the Strategic Missile Forces said. The academy presents a technological model of the first artificial satellite of the earth, which participated in ground tests of on-board communication equipment, the government communications satellite "Molniya", the Mars-Venus spacecraft, satellites for space photography and other equipment.
Many exhibits are active - in the video you can see the opening of the command radio line antennas, the operation of the thermal control system blinds, the extension of the gravity orientation system rod, and other processes. Also in the university there is a hall of rocket technology named after Korolev - there are intercontinental ballistic missiles from the R-7 to those in service.
