Minsk. April 11. INTERFAX-WEST-New models of weapons and equipment will be delivered to the formations and military units of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus, Chief of the General Staff - First Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces Andrey Gurtsevich said.
"Every year, new models of weapons and military equipment are received by formations and military units of the Air Force and air defense forces. In the near future, the second batch of four Su-30SM fighters is expected to be delivered. A contract has been signed for the purchase of four multifunctional Mi-35 helicopters, " Gurtsevich said. He was quoted by the state agency BelTA on Sunday.
According to him, not only aviation military units, but also anti-aircraft missile and radio-technical troops are preparing to be equipped with new weapons.
"This year, it is planned to supply the Belarusian - made Vostok and Russian-made Opponent-G radar stations to the radio engineering troops. "Pre-contract work continues on the purchase of modern anti-aircraft missile systems such as Pantsir-S and S-400 for anti-aircraft missile brigades and regiments in Russia," Gurtsevich said.
He recalled that in order to train Belarusian specialists to work on modern anti-aircraft missile systems and aviation equipment, as well as to jointly perform combat training tasks with units of the Russian Aerospace Forces, it is planned to create a joint training center for the Air Force and air defense forces in Belarus.
Gurtsevich also noted that this academic year, formations and military units of the Air Force and air defense forces in August - September will take part in the exercise "Combat Commonwealth - 2021" at Russian training grounds. The joint strategic exercise of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia "West-2021" will be the crown of combat training and the main exam for the Air Force and Air Defense Forces in 2021, he stressed.
In addition, on the sidelines of the "Army International Games - 2021", Belarusian servicemen will participate in the competitions of military professional skills "Aviadarts-2021" and "Clear Sky-2021".
