MOSCOW, 10 Apr-RIA Novosti. The V. V. Bakhirev Institute (part of the Techmash concern of the Rostec State Corporation) has started work on the creation of a promising 152-millimeter adjustable projectile, the new technology is planned to be extended to ammunition of other calibers, Alexander Kochkin, Executive Director of JSC NPK Techmash, told RIA Novosti.
"Currently, the Bahirev Research Institute is actively conducting research work at its own expense, during which the technical appearance of the corrected artillery shell of 152 mm caliber will be selected. In addition, the possibility of using the selected technical solutions in artillery shells and mines of other calibers will be evaluated, " Kochkin said.
According to the executive director of the concern, according to the results of the work, it is planned to create a mock-up model and demonstrate it to specialists of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. "If the result is positive, proposals will be sent to include the relevant development work in the new state armament program," he added.
The concern "Techmash" did not disclose the concept and characteristics of the new ammunition.
The project is included in the investment program of "Techmash", which is managed by the holding "Technodinamika" of the state corporation "Rostec", Kochkin added.
