The launch from the spaceport at Cape Canaveral (Florida) took place at 12:34 on the East Coast of the United States (19:34 Moscow time).
The first stage of the launch vehicle was previously used for five launches. SpaceX employees intend to once again return this element of the Falcon 9 to Earth. It is expected that a few minutes after the launch, the stage will automatically descend smoothly to the floating platform Of Course I Still Love You ("Of Course, I still love you") in the Atlantic Ocean. This technology allows the company to reduce the cost of the next media launches.
The Starlink network is designed to provide Internet access by deploying a large number of small spacecraft weighing up to 500 kg in near-Earth orbit. According to SpaceX, the launch of a total of 11 thousand satellites and their commissioning will cost $10 billion.
In May 2019, the first 60 Starlink vehicles were launched into space.
