The Chinese space program is very ambitious, said Alexander Lutovinov, Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the ICI RAS, during a press conference at the Izvestia Research Center on Wednesday, April 7.
"The Chinese program impresses with its ambition, but the main thing is that it is implemented. And in the field of planetary research. For example, on the Moon, the task was set in the early 2000s and now it was implemented last year by the return of the soil. Both Mars exploration and deep space exploration, " Lutovinov said.
The expert noted the line of future launches of Chinese observatories for space exploration in X-rays and gamma rays.
In turn, Mikhail Sachkov, Deputy Director for Scientific Work, head of the Department of Experimental Astronomy at INASAN, said that Russia does not fully use its potential for cooperation with China in space exploration.
"Our Chinese colleagues have a program to launch the Chinese Space Station (KKS) and scientific programs to this station. A collection of ideas and applications for the CCS was announced, and my institute, together with the Indian colleagues of the Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, proposed a spectrograph in the UV part of the spectrum.
According to him, the Indian-Russian spectrograph on the Chinese space station has received support both in India and in Russia and from Chinese colleagues. The project is planned to be implemented in 2024, Sachkov concluded.
On the eve of April 6, it became known that the chairman of the interregional public movement "Healthy Choice" Alexander Korsunov addressed the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov with a proposal to make the Day of Cosmonautics an official state holiday and a non-working day.
