Yekaterinburg. April 7. INTERFAX-Calculations of the S-300PS anti-aircraft missile systems division repelled a missile and air strike by a simulated enemy on the objects of the 201st Russian military base at an exercise in Tajikistan, the press service of the Central Military District reported on Wednesday.
"At the Lyaur training ground, air defense specialists detected, captured, escorted and electronically launched anti-aircraft guided missiles at air targets that simulated modern means of air attack of a simulated enemy. The air targets flew up to the protected objects from different directions and at different altitudes, " the report says.
In addition, during the exercise, the servicemen worked out the standards for reloading the launchers of the S-300 PS systems and repelling the attack of conditional sabotage and reconnaissance groups on combat positions.
In total, during the exercise, Russian anti-aircraft gunners repelled the raid of more than 30 air targets of the imaginary enemy.
As reported, at the end of 2019, the Russian military strengthened the air defense of the 201st base in Tajikistan with long-range air defense systems. The S-300PS anti-aircraft missile systems division (Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region, JSC) has taken up combat duty.
The main tasks of the complex are to cover the objects of the Russian connection from the means of air and space attack, as well as air defense of the Central Asian region of collective security.
