A video appeared on the Internet showing the moment of the explosion of the American Humvee at close range.
In the explanation to the video posted on YouTube, it says that the shooting was made in 2005, but the video was made public only recently.
It shows an armored army SUV slowly approaching a suspicious unattended passenger car and gently pushing it out of the roadway. For the first few seconds, nothing happens. But when an unattended passenger car is on the side of the road, both cars are covered with a ball of fire and smoke.
After the explosion, the US Marines have to quickly unload ammunition and weapons from the affected army armored car before the fire reaches them.
The explanation for the video says that in Iraq, many cars end up on the roadway and pose a threat as potentially mined objects. They must be removed from the road even if there are no bombs in the car, because later the rebels can plant explosive devices in them.
At the same time, there is not always time and opportunity to wait for mine clearance specialists to check a suspicious vehicle. This may interfere with the performance of patrolling tasks. Apparently, for this reason, the Marines decided to clear the road on their own.
It is also noted that, apparently, the explosion was carried out by wireless communication, and although the explosion looked quite spectacular, not a single Marine was injured. Even the driver of the Humvee pushing the car bomb survived. However, the army SUV itself was still lost.
