"The mekhcolonny also includes five types of high-security armored vehicles of the Typhoon family, and the Typhoon-air defense model will pass through Red Square for the first time," the ministry said.
The Typhoon-AIR Defense armored vehicle is based on the Typhoon-AIRBORNE light armored vehicle and is a specially adapted vehicle for the transport of MANPADS. To combat low-flying targets, a 12.7 mm machine gun is mounted on the roof, and there is also a special hatch for the operator of a portable anti-aircraft missile system. The total weight of the armored car is just over 14 tons, and the maximum speed is more than 100 km / h.
