In the video that appeared on social networks, a flying unmanned aerial vehicle of relatively small size is seen, outwardly similar to the Qasef-2K barrage munition. A few moments later, a powerful explosion occurs, completely destroying the UAV, then a combat aircraft appears in the frame.
As noted by military expert Yuri Lyamin, for the interception, which was carried out from a very close distance, apparently, an American-made AIM-120 AMRAAM missile was used.
"It was reported that its cost is about one million dollars, while the price of such a drone is only a few thousand. But, given the damage that can be caused, the use of such weapons of destruction can be considered justified. After all, drones used to hit various important administrative buildings, including the royal palace complex in Riyadh, oil refineries, and military facilities. Of course, the constant duty in the air of fighters and long-range radar detection aircraft costs a very decent amount, " Lyamin notes.
