MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. The first Russian light military transport aircraft IL-112B will make its second test flight from the airfield of the Voronezh Aircraft Factory on March 30. This was reported to TASS by a source in the aircraft industry.
"At the end of January 2021, the low-frequency tests of the aircraft ended, then the car was rolled out to the airfield. The date of the second flight is set for March 30, " the source said.
TASS has no official confirmation of this information.
The first flight of the IL-112B carrier was made on March 30, 2019, the second was scheduled for April 2020, but did not take place due to the reconstruction of the runway, which has already been completed.
The IL-112B is the first military transport aircraft developed in Russia from scratch in the post-Soviet period. Work on its creation has been carried out since 2014 at the Ilyushin Aviation Complex (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of the Rostec State Corporation). The aircraft will be able to carry up to 5 tons of cargo and is designed to transport soldiers, military equipment and weapons. The machine is being created to replace the turboprop An-26 and An-24, its mass production is planned from 2023.
