The defeat of the combat vehicle with high-precision ammunition was demonstrated in the published video report.
The target of the attack, wrapped in a tarpaulin, was near the fence in the city courtyard when it was hit by an aircraft bomb.
The "Square" is an export version of the famous Soviet "Cube" system (Western designation SA-6 Gainful). These old SAMs, created in the 60-70 years, have long been removed from the Russian army, but they continue to be used in the armed forces of almost two dozen states, including those that joined NATO.
They also remain part of the Houthis ' small air defense force. For example, it is known that with their help in 2019, two American strike drones of the MQ-9 Reaper UAV were shot down.
According to military expert Yuri Lyamin, the exploitation of the Squares " is carried out by former soldiers of the Yemeni army who defected to the Ansar Allah movement.
There has been an intense exchange of missile and air strikes between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia in recent weeks.
The situation escalated after the forces of pro-Saudi President Hadi suffered another defeat in the Yemeni province of Marib. The Royal Air Force was forced to strengthen air support for the wards of the formations.
To which they responded with attacks of ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones directly on Saudi Arabia.
After that, the capital of Yemen, Sanaa, was bombed. According to Lyamin, the attacks on the city used guided bombs and missiles from manned aircraft, such as the F-15, Eurofighter Typhoon and Panavia Tornado.
