Belarusian defense specialists are developing a mobile anti-aircraft missile system "TRIO" based on the ASILAK armored car.
According to the State Military-Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the novelty is designed to counter various types of high-precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The combat module created for the SAM will be able to use two types of missiles: anti-aircraft 9M37M and aviation R-60-NT. The latter has recently been upgraded, and a new control system has been applied to it. It is expected to be equipped with new types of homing heads - laser and thermal imaging.
The complex will be integrated into the automated control system "Alliance" and will receive digital orientation and navigation systems.
The detection of the enemy is entrusted to the optical all-round view and location system "Sokol", which is capable of performing all operations in automatic mode. It recognizes and identifies air targets and provides detailed information to subordinate combat vehicles and the central command post.
It is planned that the preliminary version of this SAM will be presented at the Minsk 10th International Exhibition of Weapons and Military Equipment MILEX-2021. The event is scheduled for June 23-26.
ASILAK armored vehicles also served as the basis for the creation of multiple launch rocket systems "Flute", which have 80 guides designed to launch 80-mm S-8 missiles.
