DAMASCUS, 1 Mar-RIA Novosti. The Israeli missile attack on the suburbs of Damascus on February 28 was repelled by the Pantsir-S and Buk-M2 systems, confirming their high effectiveness, a military source told RIA Novosti on Monday.
On the evening of February 28, F-16 aircraft of the Israeli Air Force struck 12 guided missiles from the Golan Heights area at the Damascus International Airport and the village of Guzlaniye in Syria.
The Syrian air defense calculations "successfully intercepted the launched Israeli missiles" with the help of the Pantsir-S and Buk-M2 complexes. "By means of the on-duty forces of the Syrian air defense" Pantsir-S " and "Buk-M2" launched missiles, without reaching the target, were destroyed, confirming the high efficiency of the Russian anti-aircraft missile systems, " the source said.
