The Babylon infantry fighting vehicle is being developed in Ukraine. "Ukrainian militarny portal" published some details about this "novelty".
It is reported that a hybrid power plant with a diesel engine with a capacity of 1000 hp is being created for the BMP. Several operating modes are provided, including only on an electric drive.
Protection is provided by "combined composite spaced armor, lattice screens".
The combat module with weapons will be uninhabited. In addition to the automatic gun, a 12.7 mm machine gun and anti-tank guided missiles are included.
It is emphasized that it is possible to reload without opening the hatches, both the main armament and the ATGM launcher.
The fire control system will be equipped with television cameras, a laser rangefinder, a digital ballistic computer and a target tracking machine.
Allegedly, an autonomous power unit, an on-board network stabilization system and an air-conditioned climate control system have already been designed for the car.
The developers hope that their chassis will be able to become the basis not only for the BMP "Babylon", but also for such machines as 2S3 "Acacia", 2S1 "Carnation" ZSU-23-4 "Shilka", 2S6 "Tunguska".
As proof of the successful promotion of the project, a photo of the layout is presented, however, in full size. Dynamic protection, weapons and sights are not real, and there are big doubts that the structure can move. Military experts are sure that we are facing an absolutely unviable project, which in principle cannot be implemented in the conditions of the destroyed industrial potential of Ukraine. This idea is confirmed by the fact that the developers of "Babylon" have already had failures with the infamous armored vehicle "Azovets" and the tank "Tirex".
