MOSCOW, 18 Feb-RIA Novosti. The carrier rocket "Angara-A5" in the course of December, starting on the accuracy settings of removing cargo and load capacity exceeded the requirements specified defense Ministry, said in an interview with RIA Novosti the General designer of the design Bureau "salute" (included in the Center Khrunichev, the developer of "Angara") Sergey Kuznetsov.
"If we talk about the tasks that were set directly before the Angara-A5 launch vehicle, then, first of all, the launch was carried out to confirm the energy and mass characteristics of the carrier, the possibility of launching a payload with a maximum mass into a given orbit with the required accuracy," he said.
"Absolutely all the launch parameters are performed with a good margin. We put more than 23 tons of cargo into low orbit and showed the accuracy of the launch better than required by the technical task. We can say that all the tasks were performed perfectly by the rocket, " Kuznetsov added.
According to him, during the launch on December 14, a mock-up of a satellite weighing about 2 tons 420 kilograms was launched into geostationary orbit. At the same time, calculations of the remaining fuel components showed that the Angar-A5 from the Plesetsk cosmodrome to the geostationary orbit in the future can output loads greater than the calculated ones-more than 2.5 tons.
The main customer for the creation of the Angara missile system is the Ministry of Defense, which forms the requirements for the missile.
Angara is a family of environmentally friendly launch vehicles of various classes. It includes light carriers "Angara-1.2", medium - "Angara-A3", heavy - "Angara-A5" and upgraded "Angara-A5M", increased load capacity - "Angara-A5B".
