MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. A detachment of ships of the Russian Navy went to the Arabian Sea to participate in the naval phase of the exercise "Aman-2021". This was reported to journalists on Monday in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
As told in the military department, the detachment of ships consisting of the frigate "Admiral Grigorovich", the patrol ship "Dmitry Rogachev" and the rescue tug SB-739, together with other participating countries of the exercise, will have to work out interaction in repelling attacks of high-speed small-sized targets and conduct training on joint maneuvering.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the participants of the exercises will also work out joint counteraction to piracy, inspection operations and perform firing from various complexes of ship artillery weapons at a surface target of the Killer Tomato type at a distance of about 5 km.
Russia is taking part in the exercises at the invitation of the Pakistani side. They will last until February 16.
Naval exercises "Aman-2021", held in the waters of the Arabian Sea, are non-aligned. The countries that have arrived at the exercises participate in them independently.
