In Yemen, the Houthis shot down another unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to Saudi Arabia. In a video report, they demonstrated how this happened.
Initially, the target was detected and taken for tracking with the help of a sighting thermal imaging system. Then a guided missile was fired at it. The footage shows how the solid-fuel accelerator worked, and then the main engine turned on.
The launch took place in night conditions, and the operator present at the position filmed so that the audience could not determine the type of launcher and the means of destruction used.
Nevertheless, it is safe to say that this is not one of the well-known systems of Soviet production.
After a while, the night sky lit up with a bright flash-the target was destroyed. The thermal imager also captured the moment of the missile's encounter with the UAV. It can be seen that the force of the explosion is so powerful that the affected drone breaks up into several pieces.
It is claimed that the downed winged vehicle is a Chinese-made CH-4 device, which is used for reconnaissance and strike tasks, suspending various types of corrected ammunition on it.
The previous such Saudi loss occurred at the end of December last year. Then it was possible to detect the crash site of the drone and accurately determine its type.
In December, the Houthis in a similar way to classify the type of the used anti-aircraft missile system.
