According to the Center for the Operation of Ground-based Space Infrastructure (CENKI), the launch of the new carrier will cost about 50-55 million dollars. Thus, in theory, the rocket will be competitive in the world market.
"Soyuz-5" should be an alternative to the Ukrainian "Zenith" and in the future may be one of the main Russian missiles. Moreover, as stated in the CENKI, its price will be competitive in the global market of rocket and space launches.
According to Alexey Ostanin, Director for cooperation with Kazakhstan at the CENKI, the cost of launching the rocket will be 50-55 million dollars. Recall that in 2018, the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, spoke about $ 60 million.
The Soyuz-5 is a medium-class carrier that will be able to launch cargo weighing 17 tons into a low reference orbit. The rocket will receive two stages: the first will be equipped with the RD-171MV engine, which is considered the most powerful liquid-propellant rocket engine in the world.
Recall that last year, Russia for the first time conducted fire tests of this product. It is assumed that, in addition to the Soyuz-5 ,it will find application on other new Russian carriers.
