Specialists of the analytical company Canalys summed up the results of 2020 in the global market of electric vehicles.
According to analysts, sales compared to 2019 increased by 39% and reached 3.1 million units. For comparison, the passenger car market as a whole declined by 14%. Canalys experts predict that by 2028, sales of electric cars will grow to 30 million units, and by 2030, electric cars will account for almost half of all passenger cars sold in the world.
Note that in 2020, the share of electric vehicles did not reach 5% of all new car sales. But it is expected that in 2021 it will exceed 7%, which will correspond to more than 5 million units. Clearly, the forecast for the period up to the end of the decade is shown on the graph.
