"According to the consensus reached during the 9th round of negotiations at the level of military command between China and India, the advanced units of the Chinese and Indian Armed Forces in Pangong Hunan and on the north coast simultaneously began to organize a withdrawal on February 10," the official said.
A new round of tension between China and India over the territories in Ladakh began in May 2020. Throughout the month, skirmishes between the military of the two countries took place on the disputed Indian-Chinese border, accompanied by the transfer of additional contingents and weapons from each side. In addition, a mass brawl involving about 400 soldiers from both sides took place at one of the sites in Eastern Ladakh.

It was reported that the Indian troops took measures to strengthen their positions and did not allow China to "unilaterally change the situation." As a result of the collision, 20 soldiers were killed.
