TSAMTO, February 4. The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) of the Ministry of Defense of India has published a list of weapons approved for export.
According to India Today, the list of 156 units of military equipment includes 19 aircraft systems, 41 armored combat weapons systems, 4 missile systems, 27 electronic warfare and communication systems, 10 types of personal protective equipment, 4 types of microelectronic devices, 28 naval systems, 16 RKHBZ systems and 7 other technologies.
In addition to the LCA Tejas light combat fighter, which was recently approved for export, the list also includes the Akash short-range anti-aircraft missile system, the Astra long-range air-to-air missile, the Nag anti-tank guided missile and the Brahmos cruise missile. Among the weapons of the ground forces, the list includes the upgraded Arjun Mk-1A tank, the Pinaka multiple launch rocket system, and the improved 155-mm towed ATAGS artillery system.
India is currently considering increasing its defense exports and is targeting $ 350 billion. RS. ($4.8 billion). In accordance with the" Policy of promoting the export of defense products for 2020", the above goal is planned to be achieved by 2025.
This initiative, aimed at expanding the export of PVN and strengthening the domestic defense industry for self-sufficiency, aims at an annual turnover of 1.75 trillion. RS. ($24 billion).
In accordance with the "Incentive Policy", a doubling of domestic purchases of PVN from the Indian industry is envisaged.
