MOSCOW, January 28. /TASS/. Roscosmos plans to launch 10 Soyuz-2 and Soyuz-ST launch vehicles this year in the interests of foreign partners. This was reported to TASS by the Deputy Director General of Roscosmos for international Cooperation Sergey Savelyev.
"The Russian side plans to launch 10 Soyuz-2 and Soyuz-ST launch vehicles in 2021 in the interests of foreign customers," Savelyev said.
According to the Deputy Director General of the state corporation, four of them will be held from the Baikonur cosmodrome and three each from Vostochny and Kourou (French Guiana). At the same time, the launch of the European global satellite navigation system Galileo is expected from the Kourou cosmodrome.
In the second quarter of 2021, it is planned to launch the CAS500-1 remote sensing spacecraft from Baikonur for the benefit of the Republic of Korea with a group of 34 foreign and Russian spacecraft being launched as associated payloads.
The contract with the Korean Institute of Aerospace Research for the launch of the CAS500-1 spacecraft was signed by Glavkosmos and Glavkosmos Launch Services on August 17, 2017, and the next day a similar contract was signed with Korea Aerospace Industries for the launch of the CAS500-2. Both vehicles are planned to be launched on a Soyuz-2.1 a launch vehicle from the Baikonur cosmodrome.
