In the Russian Arctic and the Far East, thermal power plants will be built that run on waste from the woodworking industry.
Thanks to this, residents of remote and isolated areas will be provided with heat and light obtained from renewable energy sources, according to the website of the Agency of the Far East for Attracting Investment and Supporting Exports (ANO API).
The Agency has signed an agreement with the TSPMK Group of companies, which supplies power electronics components and has been studying the use of biofuels in power generation for more than 10 years. The parties will cooperate in the construction of facilities.
The thermal power plants will run on wood gas and will become almost completely automated. It is planned to produce not only electric, but also thermal energy. "The power plant's capacity will be scaled depending on the needs of the local power system by sharing several modules of different electrical power," the publication says.
Vasily Potemkin, Managing Director of the ANO API, pointed out that the Far East has huge reserves of bioresources. Their rational use in the future will help to ensure the sustainable socio-economic development of the macroregion.
