Blagoveshchensk. January 22. INTERFAX-FAR EAST-Intelligence officers of the Eastern Military District tested the Tiger-M armored vehicles that entered service in the Amur region in conditions of severe frosts, the press service of the district reported on Friday.
"The inspection of cars and drivers was carried out day and night in the temperature range from -25°C to -38 degrees Celsius, which allowed us to qualitatively assess the capabilities of the equipment in the harsh conditions of the Far Eastern winter. Drivers of modern armored vehicles-all-terrain vehicles performed high-speed races on routes with obstacles simulating cliffs, ascents, descents, ditches and slopes, " the report says.
It is noted that the equipment adequately withstood the test, showed good driving performance.
"Tiger-M" is designed for conducting reconnaissance, escort and protection of columns, patrolling and fire support of troops. The vehicle has a fifth class of ballistic protection. The car is equipped with bullet-resistant tires with anti-explosion inserts that deflect the blast wave, integrated ceramic armor, mine protection, special glazing and five video cameras for all-round viewing. It provides for the placement of ammunition, communications equipment and a radio-controlled explosive device blocker.
