The Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are preparing to re-equip their anti-aircraft missile forces with the Russian S-400 Triumph and Pantsir-S air defense systems.
"Pre-contract work continues on re-equipping our divisions armed with S-300 systems with new S-400 and Pantsir-S systems," BelTA quoted Major General Igor Golub, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Republic of Belarus, as saying.
Also in 2021, the Belarusian military plans to adopt new radars "Opponent-G"and " Vostok". Contracts have been signed for the supply of the second batch of Su-30SM fighters from Russia, as well as Mi-35 multi-role attack helicopters.
After signing the contract for the supply of S-400, Belarus will become the fourth state buyer of the Triumphs. China and Turkey have already received the ordered complexes, and India has signed a contract for the supply of five S-400 regimental sets. Negotiations on the supply of anti-aircraft systems are conducted by Morocco, Iraq and Qatar.
Short-range anti-aircraft missile and gun systems "Pantsir-S" perform the role of a bodyguard in the "Triumphs": they protect long-range systems from air attack during combat duty, during reloading and on the march.
