In China, the WJ-700 long-range strike drone took to the skies for the first time.
In the Network there were photos of the device at the airport during the start of engines, as well as employees of the Chinese Aerospace Scientific and Industrial Corporation (CASIC) with a banner in honor of the first flight of the drone, writes flightglobal.
The WJ-700 was first demonstrated publicly at the 2018 Zhuhai Aerospace Show. The device has a take-off weight of 3.5 tons, four points of suspension of weapons under the wings and, according to CASIC, is able to stay in the air for more than 20 hours. The exhibition copy was armed with models of the CM-102 anti-radar missile, the C701 air-to-ground missile and the C705KD anti-ship missile.
According to the developer, in addition to striking, the drone can conduct reconnaissance over land and sea, ensure the safety of navigation and cause interference.
