The Chinese ground forces, which are on the line of confrontation in the Ladakh Valley, have prepared a very unpleasant surprise for the Indian T-72M1 and T-90S. We are talking about the AFT-10 long-range anti-tank complex (export designation HJ-10).
From open data, it is known that this ATGM is capable of destroying targets at a distance of up to 10,000 meters. The missile can make a" slide", and then, "catching" the target, independently dive from above into the most vulnerable place of any tank-the roof.
We have already seen how this happens during the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, where Azerbaijan used the Israeli Spike NLOS complex, which is in many ways an analog of the AFT-10.
It is interesting that the operator of the Chinese system sees the "picture" transmitted by the guidance head until the very moment of defeat and, if necessary, can intervene in the process by correcting the hit point.
The mass of the missile is 150 kg, of which 43 kg falls on the warhead. The flight speed of the ATGM is 150 m / s, during the attack of the object increases to 230 m / s.
ATGMs are made on the basis of infantry fighting vehicles ZBD-04A. On one machine there are up to 8 missiles.
According to military experts, AFT-10s can cause sensitive losses to Indian tanks. At the same time, unlike older complexes, they themselves will not be in the line of sight, which will avoid retaliatory damage. The Indian army does not yet have such weapons.
