Production preparation at the Sollers plant in Yelabuga has been underway for almost a year. At the end of 2020, Aurus announced the launch of a body welding line. As reported on the website of Autorevue, the installation of welding equipment here began in November, and on December 15, the first test body was welded. After that, several more bodies were made to work out the technological process and comply with quality standards. Production of Auruses in Yelabuga will take place on a full cycle: here also prepare stamping production, assembly of engines and, of course, painting of bodies.
At the moment, Aurus cars are created at the limited capacities of the Moscow Institute of NAMI, which are not adapted for mass production of cars.
