The reconnaissance ship HMS Echo of the British Royal Navy entered the waters of the Baltic Sea, follows from the data of a webcam installed on the bridge over the Danish strait of the Great Belt.
Currently, a British scout is heading south across the Baltic Sea. Last week, he went on a hike from the naval base in Portsmouth in England.
HMS Echo is officially considered a multi-purpose hydrographic research ship, although it is equipped with multi-beam echo sounders and numerous towed sensors for collecting military data. The ship is also armed with a 20 mm cannon and a 7.62 mm machine gun.
In December 2018, the ship entered the Black Sea. Then in London said that he was sent there "to ensure freedom of navigation in the region."
The Royal Navy has two other similar ships - HMS Scott and HMS Enterprise.
