TSAMTO, December 24. The US state Department has approved the potential delivery of b300er king air Scorpion aircraft with information collection, surveillance and intelligence systems to Kazakhstan as part of the Foreign military sales program.
Taking into account the associated equipment, the total cost of the sale may amount to $ 128.1 million. The DOD security cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of the planned sale on December 22.
The government of Kazakhstan has asked the United States about the possibility of supplying three sets of AST TITAN radio intelligence systems to Raytheon (2 installed, 1 spare).
The request also includes two b300er "king air Scorpion" aircraft, 3 active antenna array radars with electronic scanning "Osprey-30" of the Leonardo group (2 installed, 1 spare), 3 electron-optical/MX-15HDi IR reconnaissance stations (2 installed, 1 spare), three Sierra Nevada Small SWAP Auto-ELINT (SSAE) electronic reconnaissance systems (2 installed, 1 spare), fixed and mobile ground control stations, ground support equipment, aircraft equipment integration and test support, technical documentation, personnel training equipment, spare parts and assemblies, software and its support, engineering, technical and logistics support from the us government and contractor, flight testing and certification, as well as other related elements of logistics and software support.
As stated, the implementation of this program corresponds to the interests of US foreign policy and national security.
The notification notes that the sale of the requested equipment will expand the capabilities of the armed forces of Kazakhstan to counter existing and future threats. At the same time, the armed forces of Kazakhstan will not experience difficulties in adopting the systems.
Sierra Nevada Corporation was selected as the main contractor for the delivery.
The notice of sale is published in accordance with the requirements of American law. The description and cost of sale reflect the highest estimates based on the initial requirements. The actual purchase price may be lower, depending on the final requirements, financial capabilities and signed sales contracts, if they are concluded.
