During the fighting in the Yemeni province of Al-Dali, supporters of President Hadi used T-34-85 tanks.
judging by the materials that appeared on the network, this happened during an armed clash that took place in a mountainous desert area.
Two tanks occupied positions near one of the destroyed buildings. Coming under enemy fire, the crew of one of the" thirty-four " managed to take her to safety. What happened to the other tank is still unknown.
A third armored vehicle of this type was also seen. It can be seen that it received significant damage-the ammunition that hit it caused a powerful internal explosion of the supply of shells, as a result of which the roof with hatches was knocked out of the tower.
Currently, the conflict in Yemen remains the only one where such a technique from the Second World War is used.
Before that, T-34-85s were caught in the lenses of photo and video cameras in June last year, just during the battle in the same province. Then the Houthis used against their opponents guided anti-tank missile systems "Kornet-E", purchased by the central government before the start of the civil war, which began in 2014.
In total, according to various estimates, about a dozen tanks of this type were hit. It is known that earlier in the battles other armored veterans were used - Soviet self-propelled artillery SU-100 and other rare equipment like wheeled armored personnel carriers BTR-152.
