Project 12700 ships " have absorbed all the experience of building and operating mine-resistant ships in the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation." When creating this ship, an integrated system for searching and destroying mines was created simultaneously with its construction. The lead ship [project 12700] became part of the Russian Navy in 2016, and is currently under serial construction. "An export modification of project 12701 ships was proposed based on the minesweeper database," USC added.
In March, Dmitry Shugaev, Director of the Federal service for military-technical cooperation, in an interview with Rossiya-24 TV channel, announced Russia's plans to participate in the Indian MCMV (Mine Counter-Measures Vessel) program to supply new PMO ships to the Indian Navy.
