Chemezov spoke about the successful use of Kalashnikov drones in Syria
Rostec expects orders for combat drones from the defense Ministry, said the head of the state Corporation Sergey Chemezov. At the same time, the military Department asked to speed up the creation of this type of weapon. According to Chemezov, the drones created by the Kalashnikov concern have already been baptized in Syria and have proven themselves well.
Kalashnikov UAVs have proven themselves well during the fighting in Syria, said Sergey Chemezov, head of the rostec state Corporation, during a briefing.
In addition, the head of the state Corporation noted that, despite the compactness of these weapons and the lower power compared to large drones, they demonstrated high efficiency.
As Chemezov emphasized, the Ministry of defense asked the enterprises of the domestic military-industrial complex to speed up the development of attack drones.
"We already have carriers, and not only Rostec enterprises, but also the Ural civil aviation plant and the Kronshtadt company are working in this direction. In addition, the Sukhoi concern has already completed the development and testing of the Hunter heavy UAV"… Now the Ministry of defense asks to speed up the completion of all work on these projects as much as possible," Chemezov said.
To date, two combat products are known in the line of ZALA - the leading company in Kalashnikov in the field of UAV development. We are talking about the Zala-KYB strike drone and its further development, the ZALA Lancet.
The latter can perform reconnaissance, communications, navigation, and high-precision strike functions.
"ZALA Lancet" was presented by the Kalashnikov concern at the "Army-2019". As Sergey Chemezov told reporters, the drone is more effective than standard types of weapons, but it costs disproportionately less.
July 3 chief designer of the ZALA AERO group of companies (part of the Kalashnikov concern of the rostec state Corporation") Alexander Zakharov told TASS that factory tests of the Zala Lancet strike drone have been fully completed.
According to Chemezov, the Korsar reconnaissance and strike drone developed by the Rybinsk Luch design Bureau (part of the VEGA concern of the rostec state Corporation's Roselectronics holding) is currently undergoing trial operation.
"If we talk again about the creation of medium-sized drones, we can also recall the Corsair UAV, which can carry weapons. It has already been presented at the Victory parade and the Army exhibition. There are several copies, they are flying, are undergoing trial operation, " - said Chemezov.
Speaking about serial deliveries of this complex to the troops, he also noted that the decision remains with the Ministry of defense. "As soon as they receive an order, serial production of the Corsair will begin," the head of the state Corporation said.
The Corsair has a range of 900 km and a data transmission radius of 100 km. At the same time, this indicator can be increased if you use several devices as repeaters.
In may of the same year, Rostec spread information that the Korsar will be upgraded with an increased range and equipped with electronic warfare systems.
The Corsair was designed for reconnaissance, patrol and observation flights, as well as aerial photography. The device is equipped with a piston engine with a pushing screw. It can reach speeds of up to 150 km/h. Its weight is 200 kg, wingspan-6.5 m, fuselage length-4.2 m.
