Yekaterinburg. December 4. INTERFAX-Calculations of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMS) S-400 "Triumph" of the Samara air defense regiment of the Central military district (CVO) performed the first combat launches at the Kapustin Yar range in the Astrakhan region after rearmament, the press service of the CVO reported on Friday.
"The s-400 Triumph calculations detected a Kaban target missile simulating an operational-tactical missile, worked out tracking, and at an altitude of more than 15 kilometers, the target was successfully destroyed," the report said.
It is also noted that combat shooting is the final stage of the Samara anti-aircraft missile regiment's acceptance of new systems. The next stage will be the relocation of the regiment's personnel and the s-400 air defense system from the Astrakhan region to the point of permanent deployment - in the Samara region. After that, the equipment will be serviced, and the crews will take up combat duty to protect the airspace in the Samara zone of responsibility.
Earlier it was reported that the regiment's calculations were retrained at the anti-aircraft missile forces training center of the Military Academy of aerospace defense in the Leningrad region.
