Tashkent. December 3. INTERFAX-Uzbekistan has updated 27% of weapons and equipment in recent years, new ones have been opened and old military ranges have been reconstructed, the information service of the country's Senate reported on Thursday.
"In recent years, thanks to the accelerated pace of work to provide troops with new weapons and equipment, 27% of the existing weapons and equipment have been updated," the report says.
According to the information service, the Senate Committee on defense and security held a meeting on Thursday via videoconference, where the Minister of defense of the country Bakhodyr Kurbanov was informed about the development of the country's armed forces.
Kurbanov said that in accordance with international requirements, the reconstruction of the mountain training center and four military training grounds was carried out.
"The training and field center of the Ministry of defense for modeling and simulation has been re-erected on the territory of the Chirchik training ground in the Tashkent region," the Minister said.
According to him, 160 tactical commanders and 23 security officers were trained in this center for the first time, the Senate information service added.
