The US has supplied the Indian Navy with two multi-purpose Predator drones primarily for reconnaissance purposes on the border with China in Ladakh, where military tensions remain, as well as for control in the Indian ocean zone.
According to the newspaper The Times of India, us drone handed over to the Indian side in the lease.
"American drones arrived in India earlier this month and have already started performing reconnaissance flights. They will be used in the Indian ocean zone, as well as on the line of actual control in Eastern Ladakh, where military tensions with China remain," the source explained to the newspaper.
It is noted that the leasing of the Predator UAV was carried out as part of emergency purchases by the Indian Ministry of defense in connection with the complication of the situation on the border with China in Ladakh. Assistance in the operation of drones is provided by American technical specialists.
