MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. The Soyuz-ST-A launch vehicle for the launch of the UAE's Falcon Eye 2 satellite will be delivered to the launch pad at the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana on November 25. This was reported to TASS by a source in the rocket and space industry.
"The removal of the Soyuz-ST-A rocket to the launch pad is scheduled for November 25," the source said.
According to the source, last week during tests in the installation and measurement complex, a leaky electro-pneumatic valve was detected. The part has already been brought from Russia, and work is underway to replace it.
The launch of the Soyuz-ST-A launch vehicle is scheduled for November 29. A Russian rocket is to launch the UAE's Falcon Eye 2 satellite into orbit. Previously, the launch was repeatedly postponed due to comments on the Fregat upper stage.
The Soyuz-ST-A launch vehicle was developed and manufactured at the Progress RCC as part of the Soyuz program at the Guiana space center. This is a modification of the Soyuz-2 stage 1A rocket, adapted to the requirements for operation at the Guiana space center in terms of safety (receiving tele-commands from Earth to terminate the flight), tele-measurement systems (transmitters operating in the decimeter range with the European telemetry frame structure) and operating conditions (high humidity, sea transportation, and others).
