India is making progress in creating its own air defense system. Yesterday, November 22, portal armyrecognition.com reported that the defense research and development Organization (DRDO) of the Ministry of defense of India has tested a new qrsam missile.
The tests were conducted at the ITR test site, located near the city of Chandipur (Orissa). During testing, the missile successfully hit an unmanned Banshee jet target that simulates an airplane.

This is the second fire test of the QRSAM system. The first took place on November 13, 2020, when the target was also hit by a direct hit. The second test confirmed the operating parameters of the warhead.
The Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) and extended Range Surface-to-Air Missile (XRSAM) are air defense systems developed by the defense research and development Organization (DRDO) in collaboration with Bharat Electronics Limited and Bharat Dynamics Limited for the Indian army. According to the developers, QRSAM missiles are equipped with electronic anti-jamming devices and can hit targets at a distance of up to 30 km. They are guided by an inertial navigation system with a two-way data link, and the homing head is activated on approach to the target.
